Contact for questions concerning Open Access:
The Internet has fundamentally changed the possibilities of disseminating scientific information. The new forms of knowledge dissemination via institute servers and document repositories follow the principle of "open access". The Central Library implements an campus-wide document server and informs the authors about current developments in the field of open access.
A large number of authors wish to make their publications available free of charge to the interested community via their own homepage, their institute website or an eDoc Server.
Many journal publishers even today grant authors the right of second exploitation of their publication. A current overview concerning the copyright provisions of large publishing houses can be found in connection with the SHERPA/Romeo Projekt.
For publishing houses that do not offer such right as yet, the Central Library and the Legal Department of Research Centre Jülich have compiled a recommendation for scientists.
