As modern language and cultural mediators, the Language Services does not just boast a high linguistic competency, but also cultural know-how and a well-grounded understanding of the scientific context.Placing OrdersThe services offered by the Language Services include the translation and revision of scientific publications, websites, contracts, reports, press releases and business correspondence.
As professional translators, we conduct thorough terminology research and use our modern translation tools together with our in-house terminology database to produce consistent, high-quality translations. The Language Services has been working closely with employees at Forschungszentrum Jülich for many years and is therefore well acquainted with their needs and fields of work.
Please send us your texts for translation or revision in good time, and let us know in advance if you have upcoming larger projects that you would like us to help you with. This makes it easier for us to meet your deadline.Electronic DictionariesWe require an order form signed by you and the head of your institute for each job that you place with us. Among the most important information for us are your "Kostenstelle" or cost centre and the corresponding "Auftragsnummer". The latter is a number allocated by the Financial Department (F-KT) for certain projects. The person in charge of financial affairs in your institute will be able to apply for this number or tell you what it is if your institute already has one. Please note that full-cost accounting applies from 01.01.2010.
The electronic dictionaries that the Central Library subscribes to include both general language dictionaries as well as a wide range of specialist dictionaries (for German and English). Access is available over the Intranet from all workstations on campus.Further Information
