Neutronen-Chopper

Choppers and Selectors

Many scientific experiments at spallation sources, research reactors, synchrotron sources and photon sources require defined energy spectra, light or X-ray pulses to be selected. Depending on the source, neutron choppers, light choppers, or X-ray pulse selectors are used for this purpose. More: Choppers and Selectors …

Time-of-Flight Chamber for Neutron Spectrometer TOPAS
A state-of-the-art neutron spectrometer is currently being constructed at the Jülich Centre for Neutron Science (JCNS). TOPAS (Time-Of-Flight Spectrometer with Polarization Analysis) is among the best instruments of its type with unique possibilities for investigating dynamics in new materials. A milestone has been achieved at Jülich's Central Institute of Engineering, Electronics and Analytics (ZEA): the 30 tonne time-of-flight chamber is ready. The two institutions worked closely together to design and construct the chamber.
