ZEA-1 – Technology for World-Class Research

Engineering & technology

ZEA-1 is a scientific and technical institute of Forschungszentrum Jülich. It provides the basis for excellent scientific research by developing and fabricating high-quality apparatus, instruments, and devices.

This applies not only to instruments at large-scale international facilities, such as ITER, FRM II, SNS, Wendelstein7-X, and HESR but also to a wide variety of complex devices and components such as sample collectors in climate research and special technologies in fuel cell development and manufacturing. ZEA-1 thus bridges the gap between engineering and its technical implementation on the one hand and the numerous scientific disciplines on the other hand.

Apart from commissions from Forschungszentrum Jülich's institutes and international research institutions, ZEA-1 also works on projects with industry.

With our competence and extensive experience, we meet our customers' and partners' requirements in a quick and flexible manner. We extend our expertise and acquire new know-how as and when required by our customers.
