A Review by Dina Fattakhova-Rohlfing (IEK-1) and colleagues from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München on tin oxide based anodes for alkali ion batteries has appeared in ChemSusChem.
The review analyses the mechanism of alkali ion storage in tin oxide based anodes and describes various strategies developed in the last years to minimize the irreversible capacity fading and to improve their electrochemical performance. It provides an overview of how primary particle size, nanostructuring, and composite formation influence the electrode performance and stability in tin oxide anode-based alkali-ion batteries.
