IEK-1 co-organizer of the ICIM 2018

The 15th International Conference on Inorganic Membrances (ICIM) took place in Dresden from June 18 to 22 and was organised by the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems (Dr. Ingolf Voigt, Prof. Dr. Alexander Michaelis) and the Forschungszentrum Jülich – Institute for Energy and Climate Research 1 – IEK – 1 (Prof. Dr. Wilhelm A. Meulenberg).

The conference, which is organised every two years, took place in Germany for the first time and was financially supported by the DFG and a lot of other companies.

The three parallel sessions, which focused on different inorganic membranes and their application were visited by 300 participants from 29 nations. All in all, 156 presentations and 86 poster contributions were given. Furthermore, three prizes were awarded to postgraduate students for the best presentation as well as three prizes for poster contributions. The majority of the presentations will be published in a special issue of the magazine Separation and Purification Technology. Moreover, a conference dinner and a boat trip on the Elbe were offered.
