Global climate modeling symposium in Jülich

From June 16 to 18, 2015, the Research Center Jülich was venue for the 5th EMAC Symposium, being attended by more than 50 scientists from Atmospheric and Climate Research. The symposium was hosted by the Institute for Energy and Climate Reseach (IEK-7: Stratosphere)

The EMAC Symposium is the annual meeting of the EMAC User Community. EMAC (ECHAM/MESSy Atmospheric Chemistry) is a model system for global chemstry-climate modelling, which has been developed by a strong modelling community since years.
Among the members of the EMAC consortium are Forschungszentrum Jülich, DLR, KIT and the MPI for Chemistry as well as the Universities of Mainz, Hamburg, Bonn and the FU Berlin. International partners are the University of Connecticut, the
University of Thessaloniki, the Chinese Academy of Meteorological Sciences CAMS, the Cyprus Institute and the Russian Institute for Global Climate and Ecology. The meeting will support scientific exchange and model development.
