Fusion Researchers Hold First Meeting of "EUROfusion" Consortium in Jülich

Jülich, 27 November - Around 50 European specialists in the research field of plasma-wall interaction met at Forschungszentrum Jülich this week to discuss the current research programme for the international fusion experiment ITER, which is currently being constructed. The workshop, which ends today, is the first time that Jülich plasma physicists have met as part of the EUROfusion consortium, which was launched this year. The umbrella organization brings together 29 scientific institutions from 26 countries and will contribute to a more efficient coordination of resources to achieve the common goal – the first fusion power plant.
