Presentation of Umbrella Awards

Forschungszentrum Jülich hosts 33rd German–Israeli symposium

Jülich, 27 May 2019 – Xiaoyan Yin, a scientist from Jülich’s Institute of Energy and Climate Research (IEK), was presented with an Umbrella Award on Monday for her research on materials for solid oxide fuel cells.

Additional awards were presented to Francisco Guzman (RWTH Aachen University) and Lior Kornblum from Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. The awards were given at the ongoing 33rd Umbrella Symposium on Energy Conversion and Energy Storage, which Forschungszentrum Jülich is hosting this year. The symposium is being held until Wednesday, providing a platform for over 60 scientists to exchange views on the latest research concerning energy conversion and storage technologies. Jülich’s scientific coordinator for this year’s event is Prof. Rüdiger-A. Eichel, director at the Institute of Energy and Climate Research – Fundamental Electrochemistry (IEK-9).
