In my research, I focus on analyzing large multimodal datasets of neuroimaging in order to investigate brain organization based on different markers of brain structure, function and connectivity. The vast majority of studies in the brain mapping field have focused on markers derived from different magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) modalities, but neurobiological markers derived from positron-emission tomography (PET) have been rarely integrated while they would bring a complementary insight into brain organization and its relationship with behavioral functions. PET imaging gives the opportunity of imaging molecular biology aiming at identifying living biological processes at a cellular and molecular level in a noninvasive manner. Accordingly, in this project I explore brain organization and function by the use of biological process information at a cellular and molecular level while integrated with brain structure, function and connectivity information derived from MRI modalities.
