The Challenge of Neuroimaging

Modern brain imaging research is the focus of the German Ethics Council’s autumn meeting

Jülich, 18 November 2013 – Where does modern brain imaging research stand in terms of the tension between science, medicine, ethics, philosophy and legislation? This is the question that the German Ethics Council will address in its autumn meeting on Wednesday, 27 November, in Düsseldorf. The topic this time around is neuroimaging – images of the brain and the image of humanity. Presentations and discussions will concentrate on the impacts that new neuroscientific insights have on the concept of humanity, as well as the ethical and legal issues to which they give rise. Forschungszentrum Jülich will be represented at the meeting by Prof. Katrin Amunts and Prof. Karl Zilles.
