Advertising division: IEK-8 - Troposphere
Reference number: 2018-414

The Institute for Energy and Climate Research – Troposphere (IEK-8) investigates the chemistry of the troposphere, performs global observations, and simulates atmospheric chemistry and transport processes using numerical models.
The idea for the EoCoE consortium envisages to assemble world-leading research teams from four strategically important low-carbon energy domains in meteorology, materials, hydrology and fusion for a second period of three years ( The drive towards exascale computing over the next years will enable significant changes in the predictability and management of renewables as their share of the energy mix will increase significantly over the coming decades. The EoCoE-II project will build on its unique, established role at the crossroads of HPC and renewable energy.
