Structural plasticity hackathon

22 Mar 2017 10:00
24 Mar 2017 17:00
Forschungszentrum Jülich, Seminar room at GRS building, building 16.15

This hackathon is intended to provide a space for developers to:

  • Better understand the current computational models and implementations used to simulate structural plasticity in neural networks.
  • Enhance the current implementation of structural plasticity in NEST by efficiently incorporating topology and, as a consequence, distance in the metrics used to select targets for the creation of new synapses.
  • Discuss the redesign of information sharing for this algorithm and further optimizations.

There will also be a session on neuromorphic hardware for discussions of current restrictions of the architectures, followed by brainstorming on possible designs and implementations for both the BrainScaleS and the SpiNNaker systems.
