HBP Colloquium at Forschungszentrum Jülich

04 Oct 2018 10:00
04 Oct 2018 18:00
Forschungszentrum Jülich, Lecture Theatre, Central Library (building 04.7)

Building a collaborative ICT-based scientific research infrastructure, which allows researchers across Europe to advance knowledge in the fields of neuroscience, computing, and brain-related medicine, is the main objective of the European funded Human Brain Project (HBP).

The 10-year project has just completed the first funding phase and is celebrating its halftime. This is reason enough to take a closer look at the successes achieved so far, but also at the challenges that still lie ahead - towards a better understanding of the human brain.

The colloquium will pay special attention to the German research activities within the project, highlighting Jülich contributions.

Highlighted content includes the following:

  • Fenix infrastructure
  • Neuronal networks
  • Brain-inspired cognitive architectures
  • Contributions of Jülich’s Supercomputing and Modeling for HBP
  • Commercialization prospects of neuromorphic computing
  • Federation prospects for the medical informatics platform
  • Machine Learning panel discussion, with an emphasis on Deep Learning

The Colloquium start time will be 10:00 and the end of the sessions is 18:00, directly followed by a get together.
