In which area did you work during your time at FZJ?

In the field of soft matter physics and complex systems.

What lessons did you learn from your time at the FZJ?

Above all, working with data, programming and new tools such as AI applications. This is a huge help when it comes to analysing complex problems and developing practical solutions.

Where do you work at the moment and what are you currently doing there?

I currently work at Deloitte as a consultant in the Financial Engineering division. My work primarily involves quantitative financial modelling, the valuation of financial instruments, and the development of modelling and software solutions for banks and businesses.

Was there anything that prepared you well for your next career step?

Yes, especially the combination of analytical thinking and practical work. So it’s not just about understanding models, but also programming them yourself.

What is the most exciting thing about your job?

The application of mathematical and stochastic models to analyse and evaluate complex financial instruments. I find it particularly exciting to translate abstract models into practical solutions that support real-world financial decisions.

If money and time were no object, what would your next project be?

A long journey around the world – getting to know new cultures, understanding different perspectives and discovering as much of the local cuisine as possible.

Who would you like to have dinner with and what would you talk about?
