Luis Möckel

In which area did you work during your time at FZJ?
IBI-7
What lessons did you learn from your time at the FZJ?
The opportunity to work independently, a positive working atmosphere, and a research-oriented environment.
Where do you work at the moment and what are you currently doing there?
I work at UCB Pharma GmbH as the Real-World Evidence Team Lead. I conduct epidemiological studies.
Was there anything that prepared you well for your next career step?
Working with numbers at the FZJ in biophysics. Epidemiology is, after all, nothing more than numbers.
What is the most exciting thing about your job?
I can carry out research at a pharmaceutical company and use the data to see how healthy or unwell Germans are.
If money and time were no object, what would your next project be?
I would try to become a professor at the FZJ, even though, unfortunately, there is no Department of Epidemiology there.
Who would you like to have dinner with and what would you talk about?
The people I'm having dinner with are brilliant. I'd choose them again in a heartbeat.
