ER-C-1 TEMPEST project receives MSCA funding

The TEMPEST (Transmission Electron Microscopy Probing Electronic Structure and Strain at Low Temperatures) proposal submitted by Marc Botifoll (ER-C-1) has received funding from the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) as part of the prestigious European Postdoctoral Fellowships framework.

The main objective of the Fellowships is to support the careers of young researchers who wish to carry out their scientific research projects abroad, to gain valuable experience and share expertise.

The TEMPEST project to be undertaken at ER-C-1 aims to improve our fundamental understanding of quantum materials for spin qubits and the influence of unknown strain sources such as gates and contacts in the performance of the functional devices.

TEMPEST will exploit cutting edge (S)TEM methodologies for evaluating nanoscale strain and band structure modulations, supported by a strong theoretical background that correlates structural and electronic local characterisation with functional properties.
