Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Georgian-German Science Bridge (GGSB)
The Georgian-German Science Bridge (GGSB) has fostered a strong, enduring partnership between Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ) and a consortium of five Georgian universities. For over two decades, this collaboration has focused on joint research projects, student education through lecture series, master’s and doctoral theses, and knowledge transfer. These labs, led by young Georgian scientists at their home universities, serve as essential hubs for exchanging expertise between the partners. The GGSB is predominantly co-financed by the Georgian Ministry of Education and Science.
In recent years, the collaboration has expanded further with the addition of Kutaisi International University (KIU) from Georgia, alongside continued support from Germany’s GSI and HZDR. Interns from KIU have become integral to the research activities, gaining valuable experience by engaging with the methodologies and tools used in our projects, further strengthening the exchange of knowledge and skills.
