JuStruct: Jülich Centre for Structural Biology
The key questions in the field of neurobiology-information-brain focus on the elucidation of the role and function of proteins that are relevant to neurobiological processes at all levels of brain organization and their role in neurological and neurodegenerative diseases. JuStruct bundles expertise with infrastructure in the field of atomic resolution of structural biology. Methods used are:
JuStruct provides a user platform for atomic structural resolution of neurobiologically and medically relevant proteins. Interested scientists may contact us to discuss collaboration options in order to gain access to our infrastructure and comprehensive expertise in atomic resolution methods in structural biology.
With the infrastructure and expertise available, JuStruct represents a globally unique centre in the field of structural biology. The synergies of the different infrastructural analysis techniques open up new possibilities for exploring protein dynamics and target oriented drug development. Further, the platform offers opportunities for cross-thematic collaborations.
Within JuStruct, JuStruct doctoral students and JuStruct postdocs conduct research on particularly interesting projects that are worked on together with internal and external JuStruct collaboration partners.
