ASM Albert Sauveur Achievement Award 2024 for Prof. Robert Vaßen

Prof. Dr. Robert Vaßen (IMD-2) received the 2024 ASM Albert Sauveur Achievement Award “For pioneering the development of advanced high temperature ceramics, especially thermal barrier, environmental barrier, and abradable coatings, through unique contributions of new materials, coating microstructures, and layered systems.”

The Albert Sauveur Achievement Award was established in 1934. It recognizes pioneering materials science and engineering achievements that have stimulated organized work along similar lines to such an extent that a marked basic advance has been made in the knowledge of materials science and engineering.

The award presentation was made at the ASM Awards Dinner scheduled to take place during IMAT2024.
