BMBF funding for sodium-ion batteries: Participation in the ENTISE project
ENTISE (Development of Sodium Ion Technology for Industrially Scalable Energy Storage) is a consortium of 15 companies (coordinator: VARTA AG) and universities aiming to develop cost-effective, high-performance and environmentally friendly sodium-ion batteries. The official approval of the project took place on the 2nd May with the handover of the funding decision by Minister of Education and Research Bettina Stark-Watzinger. The project is scheduled to start on 1st June 2024. The simulation-based design of cathode materials will be carried out by the modeling team headed by Prof. Payam Kaghazchi at IEK-1.
