3 December 2018
On Thursday, 29 November 2018, nine children from the “Kleine Füchse” daycare centre decorated the Christmas tree at the Central Library (ZB) with very special home-made decorations. They also treated those in attendance to a rendition of the first two verses of the traditional Christmas song Oh Tannenbaum. The children, aged between two and three, received a big round of applause from their audience, made up of colleagues from Forschungszentrum Jülich. As an early Christmas present, they were also presented with an illustrated book depicting the history of architecture for their daycare centre.
The decorated Christmas tree is sure to delight ZB users in the weeks running up to Christmas.
During this time, the annual second-hand book sale for children will also be held in the ZB reading room. The proceeds from the book sale will be donated to the daycare centre.
Employees of Forschungszentrum Jülich, colleagues from the Central Library, and of course parents are warmly invited to both donate and purchase books at the second-hand book sale.
