Secondary Employment

Secondary employment requires the prior consent of Forschungszentrum Jülich, which may be revoked at any time, irrespective of the duration of the secondary employment or the times at which it takes place.

An employee may be prohibited from undertaking secondary employment or secondary employment may be made subject to certain conditions if it interferes with the employee’s ability to fulfil the duties defined in the employment contract or affects (other) justified concerns on the part of the employer.

In addition to the corresponding provision of the Collective Agreement for the Civil Service (TVöD), approval shall be governed by the relevant internal regulations.

Should you plan to undertake secondary employment, please register this with the head of your organizational unit and subsequently with your human resource manager at P-BT (in German).

Undertaking secondary employment without notifying your employer or obtaining the necessary approval represents a breach of your employment contract and may have disciplinary consequences.
