Dr. Martin Müller

Head of Process Engineering Electrolysis

Dr. Martin Müller is head of the Electrolysis Process Engineering Department of the Institute at the IEK-3. Dr. Müller received his doctorate from the RWTH Aachen. For many years, he served as a research scientist in the IEK-3’s Direct Methanol Fuel Cells (DMFCs) group. In 2006, he became head of the DMFC stack development group at the IEK-3 and, in 2012, took up the position leader of the DMFC department, subsequently shifting the focus of this department from fuel cells to electrolysis. Dr. Müller’s research focuses on electrochemical energy engineering, including the electrochemistry and process engineering of electrolysis, DMFC systems, i.e., stack technology, processing and systems engineering. Dr. Müller was also an operating agent of the ANNEX portable fuel cells and light traction within the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) Advanced Fuel Cells Implementing Agreement.
