- Neutron and synchrotron radiation x-ray scattering studies of topological quantum materials, strongly correlated electrons systems, highly frustrated magnets and unconventional superconductors
- Neutron and synchrotron instrumentations, inelastic neutron scattering techniques, polarized neutron scattering techniques, magnetic and resonant x-ray scattering; responsible for the operation and user programme of the high-flux polarized time-of-flight spectrometer DNS at MLZ
- Over 100 publications in the refereed journals including Nature Physics, Nature Communications, Physical Review Letter and Physical Review B
