Research Data Management – The Project at Forschungszentrum Jülich

The Project

The Research Data Management (RDM) Project for Forschungszentrum Jülich has been launched at the initiative of the Board of Directors with the participation of interested scientists. In a conceptual project, requirements were identified and consultation and other services designed accordingly. These were then implemented in the main research data management project. Employees of Forschungszentrum Jülich who want to help shape research data management at Jülich are welcome to join the project at any time.

Information from the Institutes

Ahead of the project being launched, committees and scientists at Forschungszentrum Jülich identified what the requirements of scientists were with respect to scenarios of use in their work with research data, as well as what form of support would be beneficial in this regard.

The Teams

The “Communication and Awareness” team is concerned with communication between the project and the research community and is drawing up a data policy for Forschungszentrum Jülich.
The “Services, Processes and Advice” team is devoted to drafting and implementing centralized services for research data management at Forschungszentrum Jülich. That is to say repositories, generators of data management plans etc. The Training and Advice team is devising new courses. The training courses will also be offered while the project is ongoing.
