Diversity & Inclusion

For excellent research at Forschungszentrum Jülich, the diversity of our employees is a crucial success factor and an extremely valuable resource. It enables innovation, creativity and the integration of many perspectives on the same issue - scientific, technical, administrative or strategic. Forschungszentrum Jülich therefore promotes an open and inclusive corporate culture in which all employees can develop to the best of their abilities.

Diversity and Inclusion are not only promoted at Forschungszentrum Jülich, but throughout the entire Helmholtz Association. For more information, please refer to the Helmholtz Association's Guideline on Diversity and Inclusion.

The Equal Opportunities Bureau promotes diversity and inclusion at Forschungszentrum Jülich. It advises and supports employees, supervisors as well as applicants and interested parties. The staff unit aims to increase visibility and awareness of diversity. To this end, it uses internal communication and exchange formats and supports and promotes employee networks (e.g. Rainbow-Network or FemaleVoice).

In January 2021, Forschungszentrum Jülich launched a project under the leadership of Prof. Melchior to strengthen its D&I capabilities. You can find out about all the developments of the project on the UE-N website.
