Stephan Ertmer won new European Researcher Grant

EUROfusion has granted a two-year funding for a research program on “Untangling the atomic data of W I using passive and laser-assisted spectroscopy” by Stephan Ertmer.

His idea is to provide improved atomic data on tungsten to the codes simulating the flux of this preferred first-wall material into the plasma. The latter has to be minimized in order to prevent plasma from excessive cooling.
