Supercomputers Simulate Consequences of Climate Change

Jülich, 15 July 2011 – A competence centre for "High-Performance Scientific Computing in Terrestrial Systems" (HPSC TerrSys), located at a number of sites, was founded on Friday under the umbrella of Geoverbund ABC/J in cooperation with the Jülich Aachen Research Alliance (JARA). The aim of Geoverbund ABC/J in founding this centre is to address the new challenges arising from climate change, the growing scarcity of natural resources and increase of risks by pooling scientific competence and applying state-of-the-art methods.
