CO2 from a Power Station for Plant Research

Niederaußem/Jülich, 7 October 2015 – How plants can be used as renewable raw materials is what scientists at Forschungszentrum Jülich have been working on for several years. Algae, for example, could be used for aviation fuel as an alternative to oil. To grow, plants need carbon dioxide (CO2). In future, Forschungszentrum Jülich with receive this raw material from RWE Power AG, who will supply it from their pilot CO2 scrubbing plant at the Niederaußem power station.
