Biomass from Microalgae: BMBF Supports Research Projects

Jülich/Aachen, 29 August 2017 – Scientists at the Solar Institut Jülich (SIJ), a joint institute of Aachen University of Applied Sciences and Forschungszentrum Jülich, are working together on solutions for the energy-efficient and cost-effective use of microalgae for biomass production. The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is supporting their efforts with funding worth roughly € 1.58 million. On Monday, BMBF Parliamentary State Secretary Thomas Rachel (Member of the German Bundestag) handed over the grant notifications for the "AlgNutrient-UrBioSol" project in the senate hall at Aachen University of Applied Sciences.
