Ab initio description of double and charge transfer excitations: from solvable models to complex systems

Research Topics


Our research currently focusses on the exact solution of the interacting Schrödinger equation for one-and two-dimensional model systems with a small number of electrons to investigate the behavior of the exact functional in these cases.

Some examples of our activities are

  • Extension of static reduced density-matrix functional theory to the time domain
  • Non-adiabatic effects in exactly solvable models
  • Calculation of energy spectra from reduced density matrix functional theory
  • Development of frequency dependent exchange-correlation kernels
  • Code development and optimization
