The Helmholtz Institute Erlangen-Nürnberg (HI ERN) would like to invite all those interested to a one-day international symposium on "Recent Achievements and Future Trends in Electrocatalysis" to be held in Erlangen on 4 April 2014.

We are pleased to announce that leading scientists in the field will be participating in the event. The symposium will therefore provide outstanding insights into the state of the art of research on electrocatalysis, which will be the focus of work of the future W3 professorship at HI ERN.

The Helmholtz Institute Erlangen-Nürnberg Renewable Energy Production was founded in 2013. It was established cooperatively by Forschungszentrum Jülich, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), and Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin. The new research building will be located on the south campus of FAU. HI ERN is operated as a branch office of Forschungszentrum Jülich. The institute's mission is to expand research on renewable energy to support the transformation of the energy sector, focusing on solar energy. Research priorities are printable photovoltaics and innovative methods for chemical energy storage, for example in the form of hydrogen.

We are looking forward to a stimulating scientific discussion.
