Who is our guest?

We are happy to welcome Dr. Mark Thiele, who did his PhD in Theoretical Physics (Quantum Dynamics) at University of Bayreuth in 2009. Today he works in the position of Lead Grid Technology & Control, System Operations  His main task is to integrate new assets and technology into grid operations ensuring system security and benefits for the energy transition goals.

What is the main topic of the talk?

Dr. Mark Thiele works at Tennet GmbH. At Tennet they plan, build, maintain and operate a high-voltage network that extends over land and sea. As a network operator, they are responsible for ensuring the security of the power supply and maintaining the balance of the network. This involves much more than just keeping the lights on - it involves important tasks such as maintaining the network, investing in new infrastructure, and ensuring network access for all market participants.
