We are looking to recruit a

Master thesis – Hardware implementation of State Space Models

titel

Sequence processing recently became one of the fastest growing fields in Machine Learning. It can be applied in various fields in the processing of natural language in the cloud to sensor data at the edge in remote devices. Sequence processing is considered a crucial part in the development of artificial intelligence, because it is a key feature of the way the human brain processes information. At the Peter Grünberg Institute - Neuromorphic Compute Nodes (PGI-14), we are working on the next generation of machine learning frameworks for sequence processing: structured state space models (SSM). These powerful models even surpass the performance of recent Transformer models on sequence learning tasks. To bring these models to application, we are aiming for an energy efficient dedicated hardware implementation. For this task, we are looking for a highly motivated student to conduct a master thesis on this interesting and challenging topic. Join our team and be at the forefront of research on this rapidly evolving field!
