Master Thesis - Techno-Economic Aspects of Process Integrated CO2 Electrolyzers
Your Job:
Despite the promising results and scientific momentum of CO2 electrolyzers in recent years, considerable work remains to make this technology industrially viable. Beyond developing efficient electrolyzer components, understanding the operating parameters of such devices is equally crucial. Optimizing the process and techno-economic parameters of CO2 electrolyzer operation can significantly enhance the technology readiness level (TRL) of current systems. The focus of this Master`s thesis is on performing techno-economic analysis and operation optimization of CO2 electrolyzers. Based on verified experimental data, the student will assess CAPEX and OPEX of CO2 electrolysis processes, aiming in optimizing their efficiency. Apart from maximizing the operational and economical parameters of the process, the scope of the thesis will be to identify the actual bottlenecks of the proposed CO2 electrolysis process.
- Assessment of CAPEX and OPEX of the set-up

Your Profile:
- Very good academic records in your master studies in the field of Industrial or Chemical Engineering
- Experience with various programming languages and process simulation
- Willingness to learn and ability to think outside of the box
- Excellent cooperation, communication and team-work abilities
- Collaborative working in multicultural and interdisciplinary team
- Independent, self-motivated, and responsible
- Fluency in English is mandatory
- Fluency in German is advantageous
