The INM-5 has an excellent infrastructure to elaborate research areas dealing with decoding the human brain.

First different accelerators are available to produce diagnostic and therapeutic radionuclides. These radionuclides coupled to biomolecules are used to provide information about the function or dysfunction of the human brain. In particular the INM-5 participates in the examination and diagnosis of brain tumors and neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer or Morbus Parkinson.
