Introducing "My Individual Career Navigator”
Navigating your career path during your PhD or Postdoc can be overwhelming. What are your options? Where do you start? Who can you turn to for advice?
The Career Navigator can focus on different career paths - Academia, Industry, Science Management. Especially with regard to academic careers, important supporting interfaces at Forschungszentrum Jülich will be included and can be considered.
Our "My Individual Career Navigator" program is designed to guide you through the complexities of career planning. Over the course of three (+) personalized sessions, you'll receive tailored support to help you chart your course. Here's what you can expect:
We'll work together to establish your objectives for this process and review your past work experiences. What were the highlights? What did you enjoy? What would you prefer to avoid in the future?
Time Commitment:
Each session is two hours long, with a minimum of three sessions spread over about three months. You'll also have light exercises to complete in preparation for each meeting.

Unlike general career counselling, which covers a broad range of topics in a flexible format, the Career Navigator is a structured program with defined stages and topics, offered by the Career Center and Postdoc Office. This program is distinct from career planning workshops as it is entirely individualized, with all sessions scheduled at your convenience.

The Career Navigator is a new offer of the Career Center & Postdoc Office, next to our regular career counselling sessions.
