Ahmed Alia wins second prize in the Palestine Islamic Bank Award for Scientific Research 2023
Ahmed Alia, a researcher at Forschungszentrum Jülich, Institute for Advanced Simulation, Civil Safety Research (IAS-7), has won second prize in the Palestine Islamic Bank Award for Scientific Research in the field of Education, Learning, and Business in the Age of Technology and Artificial Intelligence. The researcher participated in a published paper entitled "A hybrid deep learning and visualization framework for pushing behavior detection in pedestrian dynamics." This research was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Mohammed Maree from the Arab American University in Palestine and Dr. Mohcine Chraibi from the Forschungszentrum Jülich, IAS-7, in Germany.
In 2020, An-Najah National University in Palestine nominated Ahmed Alia to apply for the PGSB fellowship to obtain a doctoral degree from the University of Wuppertal in collaboration with the Forschungszentrum Jülich in Germany.

This award is organized annually in partnership between the Palestinian Islamic Bank, the Ministry of Higher Education, and Scientific Research in Palestine. The award aims to encourage researchers to increase their research production and produce original research that adds new value to knowledge.
