Vacancies within European Fusion Research

All research and development activities for controlled nuclear fusion within the European Union are carried out under a joint coordinated programme thus sharing efforts (EURATOM). The corresponding activities of Forschungszentrum Jülich are an integral part of this European programme.

A European Consortium of all European fusion laboratories, EUROfusion, regulates all research and development work along the European roadmap to the realisation of fusion energy. This comprises also the scientific exploitation of the large experimental devices like e.g. JET in Culham in the United Kingdom, ASDEX Upgrade in Garching and Wendelstein 7-X in Greifswald, as well as the construction of ITER in Cadarache, France.
Within the framework of EUROfusion, jobs are regularly advertised for positions in the Programme Management Unit (Garching and Culham). These posts are filled by staff seconded from the fusion laboratories (here Forschungszentrum Jülich) for a period of up to four years.
Other posts are offered by the ITER Organization directly or by the European Agency “Fusion for Energy” (F4E) for the construction of ITER in Barcelona.

Applicants should contact the head of administration at Plasma Physics, Forschungszentrum Jülich:
