9th DEMO Workshop

On 28^th and 29^th April 2015, the 9^th meeting of the German DEMO working group was held in Jülich. About 40 scientists from IPP Garching and Greifswald, KIT Karlsruhe and FZ Jülich discussed the latest status of research on DEMO physics and technology. Major topics were the divertor physics and control of DEMO power exhaust, the DEMO divertor concept, and plasma heating and current drive. Further collaborations are envisaged to elaborate advanced divertor concepts, to gain a joint understanding of DEMO requirements, and to improve systems codes in various areas of DEMO physics and technology.
The next meeting shall take place in Karlsruhe about January 2016.
