Jülich/Frankfurt am Main, November 8, 2022 - Another long-haul Lufthansa Group aircraft is now flying for atmospheric and climate research: experts from the company and Forschungszentrum Jülich have equipped an Airbus A330-300 operated by Eurowings Discover (registration D-AIKE, "Kilo-Echo") with special measuring instruments for the European research project IAGOS. The two measuring probes installed in the aircraft fuselage collect data on the composition of the atmosphere during scheduled flights. The coordinator of IAGOS Germany is Prof. Andreas Petzold from the Jülich Institute for the Troposphere.
