Quantum Firmware and Control

About

The Quantum Firmware and Control group at PGI-12 focuses on the development of techniques to reduce the impact of errors in quantum computing systems. In particular, we study quantum optimal control techniques to achieve high fidelity gates in current Noisy Intermediate Scale Quantum (NISQ) devices, mostly focusing on different kinds of superconducting hardware. In this context, we develop numerical tools for the simulation, control and characterization of quantum devices. Moreover, we are also active in the area of quantum error mitigation, quantum error correction and modeling of open quantum systems.
