ZEA-1 becomes ITE - reorganization of the ZEA structure
The Central Institute of Engineering, Electronics and Analytics (ZEA) will be renamed on 1 January 2025 as the Institute of Technology and Engineering (ITE). The activities of the subinstitutes will be continued in new structures.
ZEA, which was founded in 2012, was tasked with supporting Jülich research in the value and innovation chain by developing its own methods, equipment, and systems, especially if these are not available commercially. It will continue to do this after restructuring. The topics that have established themselves as independent scientific topics over the past 10 years will be strengthened and continued in their own structures.
ZEA-1 will be dissolved and will become ITE. Prof. Ghaleb Natour, the current head of ZEA-1, will take over as head of ITE. The portfolio of the future ITE will be strengthened by the integration of “Measuring Systems” from ZEA-2.
All colleagues previously involved in research activities relating to “measurement systems” at ZEA-2 will move to the new Institute of Technology and Engineering (ITE). Combining expertise in this field at ITE makes sense in order to create synergies and pool capacities in projects.
