Research Topic

3D-PLI is used to determine the orientation of nerve fibers in the brain. To better understand the underlying structures of nerve fibers in the measured brain sections I develop three-dimensional models of nerve fibers in the white matter. These are used to extend the understanding of our measurements in due to simulations. One of these simulation techniques, called simPLI, has been extended and optimized by me for the use in High Performance Computing (HPC).

The modeling, simulation and further analysis software is available as an open source project under the Fiber Architecture Simulation Toolbox for 3D-PLI (fastpli).
