Digital Women in Science Day

Are you interested in science and research and looking for career opportunities that suit you? Do you want to make a difference and help shape change with your future job? Then meet us online on 11 December 2024 at the Digital Women in Science Day and take the opportunity to get to know colleagues working in different areas of Forschungszentrum Jülich.

The event is intended to provide you with orientation and help you find initial answers to the following questions: Is science right for me? What career paths are there? What is it like to come to Germany from abroad and work in Jülich?

From 4.00 pm, we cordially invite you to spend an afternoon in the spirit of your career. We have planned the following:

  • 4 pm - Welcome
  • 4:10 pm - Short presentation of FZ Jülich as an employer
  • 4:20 pm - Moderated discussion round on "Career paths in science": Three female scientists with an international background talk about their career paths and personal experiences. Followed by Q&A with the participants. We are particularly happy about the support of our three colleagues:
    • Nataliia Fedorchenko - Doctoral Researcher at the Institute of Neurosciences and Medicine -Structural and Functional Organisation of the Brain
    • Dr. Casey Paquola - Group Leader at the Institute of Neurosciences and Medicine - Brain and Behaviour
    • Maria Petrova - El Sayed - Research Fellow at the Jülich Supercomputing Centre
  • 5:30 pm - Networking / exchange in break-out rooms on the topics
    • Equal opportunities, compatibility of work and private life, promotion of women at FZJ
    • Application tips, application process at FZJ
    • Career paths in and outside of science
    • Exchange with the speakers / scientists
  • 6:30 pm - End & farewell

In the break-out sessions, experts from various fields will be available to you from 5.30 pm. Here you can clarify any questions you still have about your future career aspirations and at the same time have the opportunity to exchange ideas with the other participants.

We are already looking forward to your participation and a lively exchange!
