Quantum Careers (online)
On the occasion of World Quantum Day, we are organising an online information and exchange event for anyone interested in research in the field of quantum technologies at Forschungszentrum Jülich and in career opportunities in this field.

Note on time zone: CEST
Researchers aim to unlock the secrets of the mysterious quantum cosmos. Forschungszentrum Jülich is a European hotspot of quantum research. Its vision is to develop a quantum computer that takes data processing to a new level.
Would you like to find out more about quantum research at Forschungszentrum Jülich? Then take the opportunity to attend two lectures by Jülich researchers to get an overview of the current potential and challenges. We look forward to your questions and a lively exchange in the Q&A session that follows.
You will also get an overview of Forschungszentrum Jülich as an employer and career opportunities. You can exchange valuable tips and information for your application with colleagues from our Recruiting-Team.
Programme
- Welcome & short overview of Forschungszentrum Jülich as an employer
- Two talks on the status quo of quantum research at Forschungszentrum Jülich with focus on:
- JUNIQ - the Jülich UNified Infrastructure for Quantum computing - including an overview of the provided quantum computing platforms as well as related research topics (Dr. Madita Willsch)
- Cryogenic electronics for local quantum bit control and readout – a path to scaling towards universal quantum computing (Dr. Patrick Vliex)
- Both colleagues will cover theoretical and experimental persepectives.
- Followed by a Q&A session with the audience.
- Networking and exchange in break-out-sessions on the following topics:
- Doing a PhD in Quantum Research (Abhisek Kole & Andrea Rava)
- Career opportunities & application tips (Anna Breitenbach)
The event is aimed at university students, doctoral researchers, scientists and anyone interested in quantum research.
