Advanced Talents Talk - Science Communication

We are pleased to invite you to the Advanced Talents Talk (ATT). We would like to give you an informative impulse on the topic of science communication by Dr. Christian Scharun. The event is a cooperation between the RWTH Aachen University, the Forschungszentrum Jülich and the University of Cologne.
Since 2015, the event has been held annually, alternating between the institutions. This year, the Forschunsgzentrum Jülich will be pleased to host the 10th cycle of the „Advanced Talents Talk“.
Science communication - how and why?
The workshop deals with the basics of science communication. After an introductory lecture there will be an interactive practice session followed by a question-and-answer session. In the lecture, participants will be sensitized to the importance of science communication and learn the basics of good science communication. In an interactive exercise part, individual key messages are developed. In the question-and-answer part, specific questions about the lecture as well as the the exercise section will be addressed. In addition, questions about possible career paths in science communication will be answered.
The National Institute for Science Communication gGmbH (NaWik) has developed this lecture and workshop. The NaWik has been providing scientists, students and professional scientists, students and professional public relations workers the basics of good science communication for over ten years. The speaker of the event is Dr. Christian Scharun. He is a climate researcher and scientific author. Until 2023 he investigated the influences of greenhouse gas emissions on global warming at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. Since 2023, he works as scientific author for the ZDFneo show MaiThink X and regularly writes for the Terra X science column. Read more about him!
