We are looking to recruit a

Research Associate in the field of Semantics & Ontologies

Research at the Institute for Advanced Simulation - Materials Data Science and Informatics (IAS-9) at Forschungszentrum Jülich is multidisciplinary and spans across the fields of theoretical material characterization, data science and data analytics to metadata research and data management. The members of our group "Concepts and tools for research data management" strive to improve metadata practices and semantic interoperability of research tools for research data- for example in context of their work within inter-institutional large scale consortia such as the Helmholtz Metadata Collaboration (HMC) or the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI). Interoperable data- a cornerstone of the FAIR principles - is one of the main motivations for our work. We support use cases and communities in the development of ontologies, glossaries and knowledge graphs within the fields of material science and engineering, electron microscopy as well as research digitization and digital assets.
