IT-Specialist – Data & Development

Your Job:

In an interdisciplinary team, you will implement approaches for the automated, large-scale availability and integration of energy system data and models, applying data science methods to make them usable for transparent energy system analyses. You will process and semantically enrich the collected data before it is integrated into a knowledge-graph-based metadata platform. In collaboration with actors from energy research, you will apply methods to enhance data and software interoperability, enabling the automated reuse of energy system analysis workflows. Following FAIR and Linked Open Data principles, you will create interfaces that allow smooth, scalable, transparent, and interoperable processing of big data in the context of scientific, AI-supported energy system research. Your tasks include:

• Development and optimization of interfaces and APIs for the integration of heterogeneous energy system data
  
• Implementation and maintenance of automated data processing and transformation workflows
  
• Implementation of technical solutions for standardized enrichment, validation, and organization of data
  
• Technical contribution to the development of a knowledge-graph-based data and metadata platform
  
• Integration of modern technologies and standards to ensure interoperability, semantics, AI-supported data analysis, and data quality
  
• Close collaboration with researchers to translate domain-specific requirements into robust technical solutions
  

Your Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in the field of IT, data or computer science or a related discipline
  
• Interest in data science, AI-supported energy systems, and digital solutions
  
• Practical programming skills, ideally in Python; experience in developing automation, interfaces, or data pipelines is an advantage
  
• Basic knowledge of data management, data modeling, and data analysis methods
  
• Structured, analytical, and independent working style
  
• Reliability, attention to detail, and enjoyment of working in an interdisciplinary team
  
• Very good command of written and spoken English (at least B2 level according to the CEFR: https://go.fzj.de/languagerequirements ), ideally supported by a certificate confirming the language level; German language skills are an advantage
